It was a beautiful Fall day when Kim and Aleasha met me out at Chestnut Ridge Park to take their engagement photos. It was a photographer’s dream, the leaves were changing, the colors were beautiful, and I had the most wonderful couple who are very much in love. Oh, and MJ their pup joined us. I was very excited for this engagement session; I’ve known Kim for a few years she was the grad assistant at the college I attended. She is funny, kind, caring and over genuine. When I heard that Aleasha popped the question I was thrilled.
Kim and Aleasha’s 6-year dating anniversary they took a trip to the 1000 Islands. Kim and I are friends on Facebook so I got to see how much fun they were having. They were zip lining and hiking, making all of us other bums a little jealous haha. Then there were a series of photos unlike the rest and we got a front row seat to the sweetest, tear filled proposal in front of the Boldt Castle. Could there be a more wonderful setting?
After hiking and taking their engagement pictures around Chestnut Ridge Park I got to know a little bit about how their love story unfolded. The two of them met at college. They both went to U.B. and met because they were both in the same sorority. That was in 2009, they quickly became best friends, and then… well you know the rest.
Kim and Aleasha’s upcoming nuptials will be at a Winery in Upstate NY so how perfect is it that we had a wine cork with the year they met on it?!
While I was photographing, I got to see all of their cute little quirks, the way they laughed with one another, and of course how much fun they were having with MJ, the pup. Of course, I am an animal lover myself, I have 3 fur babies of my own. It was so sweet to take these portraits. MJ is not camera shy at all.
Kim and Aleasha, I am so happy that I got to be your photographer for this engagement session. Thank you for being so incredible. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day with one of the most beautiful couples I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Cheers to a life with joy, love and happiness!
Oh and I want to give a shoot-out to Sharlene for being the best dog sitter (play mate) and volunteer photo assistant ever. Thank you!
Adam and Lisa’s engagement session was one for the books. I had such a great time out in the Southtowns of WNY. This is a photo session I had been looking forward to for YEARS, yes years. Seriously.
Lisa is my cousin and we are pretty close. When she asked me to do her engagement photos, I was ecstatic. My little cousin is getting married, and to an awesome guy like Adam. There’s literally no better scenario.
In fact, when I got married a few years ago. Lisa of course had to be by my side as a bridesmaid. And seeing her and Adam together at that time, while they were still a fresh new couple, was just a sight to see. He was so kind and genuine and fit perfectly with our kooky family. Can I call them kooky, they are my family after all?! Lucky for him, Lisa was just as crazy about him. He has since had to endure countless family picnics, birthdays, and even camping trips.
The two of them love going on adventures and traveling. One of their favorite places to visit is NYC. They traveled there in December and in front of Rockefeller Center, backlit from the beautifully decorated Christmas trees, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his. It’s a love story I swoon over and love hearing again and again.
Like a lot of WNY’ers, Adam and Lisa are very outdoorsy and loved Chestnut Ridge park so we started their engagement pictures there. They showed me some of their favorite spots and I showed them some of mine. The way that Adam kept cracking jokes to make Lisa laugh uncontrollably was a sight to see. I even had to stop myself from losing it. It was a lot of fun!
Our next stop was New Era field which, if you know Adam and Lisa, was a perfect spot to take some engagement photos. The two of them are frequently at Buffalo Bills games, and if they’re not there they certainly watching at home and cheering them on. Lisa even had custom buffalo bills shirts made that were adorned with their wedding date. It certainly was a nice touch.
Adam and Lisa, I wish you nothing but the absolute best life has to offer. Here’s to your next big adventure. Adam welcome to the family, we are thrilled to have you. I can’t wait to dance like crazy at your wedding.
